What exactly is Online Printing System?

Online Printing System is a prepress process that bridges the gap between online digital content and commercial print production. The process allows a print house, a client or a graphic designer to create, edit, and approve computer-based online templates during the prepress phase. This process increasingly calls for a Portable Document Format (PDF) workflow environment with output provided by digital printing.

How much music or data can I fit on a cd?

Standard CD A round disc with a 120mm diameter and a capacity of 650 to 700 megabytes. That means approximately 74 to 80 minutes of audio or the data equivalent. It can be read on any standard computer's CD-ROM drive and is compatible with most up to date CD players. The discs we use have a maximum capacity of 700MB or about 80 minutes of music. Some of this space is used up with space between audio tracks on audio CDs or indexing information on data CDs.

To add up the total time of your audio tracks, add the time of all the individual tacks together and then add 2 seconds at the beginning of the disc and 2 seconds between each track, if you choose to do so, to your total. For data CDs, a general rule of thumb is to allow about 10 to 15 MB of space for indexing. So the maximum total size for files on our data discs is about 685 MB. In the event that the source files you submit to us do not fit on a disc, we will contact you.

What are the different sizes and storage capacities for dvd's?

DVD-5 – 4.7 Gigabytes capacity. It is single layer and single sided with up to 133 minutes of video.

DVD-9 – 8.54 Gigabytes capacity. It is dual layer and single sided with up to 240 minutes of video.

DVD-10 – 9.4 Gigabytes capacity. It is single layer and two sided. Conventional DVD printing is not an option for DVD-10s because both sides of the disc must be readable. This means only printing on the hub of the disc is available.

What is an enhanced cd?

An Enhanced CD is a CD which you can play in a CD player like a normal CD, but which you can also use in your computer for additional multimedia fun. What are isrc and ean/upc codes? ISRC codes are a simple numbering system so you get paid for digital music sales. The main purpose for having an ISRC code on your CDR master is for documentation purposes. That's all. It's just easier for you to keep track of.

If you TYPE your ISRC codes, (next to the song titles and song length), on a piece of paper - you will have the same documented ISRC information as if you had the codes embeded on your CDR master. If you are going to use a digital distribution company like CDBaby, they will ask you to MANUALLY TYPE your song codes in the information fields on their website.

If you are sending music (CD or otherwise) to a ratio station, you must include a TYPED PAGE with the ISRC code(s) for the song(s) in your contact information. Radio stations do not extract ISRC codes off of MP3's, wav files, CD's or CDR's. ISRC Codes are not embedded into the audio files on a CDR in any way ISRC Codes are not embedded in MP3's when converted from an audio file

What is cd text?

CD Text is a extension of the existing audio CD standard ("Red Book") that adds the ability to store text and graphical information like album titles, artist names, and song titles on a music CD. What sets this apart from ID3 tags is that the information is stored within the disc and it doesn't pull information from the internet. The data can be read by some CD players, providing a way to have disc information available without having to enter it manually or look it up in a database. CD-text is perfect for car stereos, home stereos and DVD players. Not all CD players and CD-ROM drives can read CD-Text. If this feature is important to you, check the specifications before you buy. Some programs, notably Windows Media Player, claim to read CD-Text but will actually use an Internet database instead. Some burning software such as Toast and computer CD burners support the writing of CD-Text info, so it is best to investigate whether the option is available on your setup. CD-Text cannot be added to the disc after it has been replicated. Along the same lines, most but not all replication and duplication equipment support this technology.

How many products does your site support?

The site currently supports eight major and popular print products as listed. We are shortly going to introduce more products like logos/mailing labels, vinyl stickers, catalogs, banners, calendars, door hangers and raised ink cards.

What options are availalbe for product design?

There are three options for designing and customizing a product. Click a product on the left-hand panel and choose one of the options.

1. Custom Design: lets you customize the products. Click it to open the design studio and use multiple tools to create your own design.

2. Upload Design: using this option, you can upload your own JPG, JPEG, GIF, PNG, EPS, AI, PDF and PSD images.

3. Browse Design: use this to select hundreds of pre-loaded templates. Work on them or customize them through our design studio.

What is paper stock and card stock?

The type of paper used for difference purposes is expressed in weight. In the countries following the European system, it is grammes per square metre (gsm or g/m² or simply g) and in the US system it is Pound (lb).

The paper used for writing/printing (letterheads and such stationery) is generally between 60 to 120 gsm (20 to 70 lb) and is called the paper or text stock. Anything heavier than this is considered the card stock, i.e. the paper used for business cards, postcards, greeting cards, etc.

Explain the difference between glossy and matt paper stock.

Coated papers are available in two finishes – glossy (shiny and smooth) and matt (flat and lusterless). Coated glossy papers reflect the light evenly so they are suitable for almost all types of printing jobs. Glossy papers have a good ink holdout, which is important for creating sharp, bright images.

Difference between Duplication & Replication

There is no difference in the disc's except for a slight compatibility issue between the two processes. A replicated disc will work on all DVD players and computer drives. A duplicated disc will work on players that will read a DVD-R disc. Almost all modern set-top players and computers can play this format. In short, there is VERY LITTLE difference between a duplicated or replicated disc. If you have menus, chapters, alternate sound tracks, extras, etc. on your original, it will be on the the new disc regardless of how it was copied. Most companies are now using duplicated disc's instead of replicated ones because of the cost and time saved by this process and the ever decreasing compatibility issue. Will your duplicated discs work on all players

The short answer is no. They will play in most players, but not in some older players.

What color formats are supported by your site?

Our system supports RGB (red, green, blue) for producing digital prints. We have accurately mapped color pallet to match RGB to CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, key) to ensure proper 4-color printing.

What is the resolution of output file?

300 dpi (dots per inch) is the resolution of the output PDF file.

What printing method do you use?

We use offset printing, which provides the highest quality of print material for both text and images.

Are the prices listed on the site final? How do I know the total cost?

No, the price list indicates basic prices of products against the speculative quantities. The prices are calculated with regard to the most basic paper/card types, sizes and single side printing. As you know, the final printing cost depends on many parameters: paper/card weights or thickness (GSM/Pt), glossy or matt finish, 2 or 4 colors, square or rounded corners, single or double side printing, quantity, destination shipping charges and the mode of transport.
